HONORED WITH THE EU PRODUCT SAFETY AWARD 2019

Your baby means everything to you and that is why we do everything to offer you only extra-safe products. For this reason, many MAM innovations are researched and developed in partnership with medical professionals. In addition, our internal safety standards and testing criteria go well beyond the norms.
These efforts have now been formally recognised by the European Commission, which presented MAM with the prestigious EU PRODUCT SAFETY AWARD 2019. Because for us, there is nothing more worthwhile than supporting the healthy development of babies and making parents’ daily life easier.

Yes, because the innovative protective cap ensures that the liquid remains in the bottle. This means there is no need for any small sealing disc: Simply place the protective cap on the bottle and then you can transport it safely.

Self-Sterilising

  • The self-sterilising function of the Easy Start Bottle is proven to be effective for killing common household germs and bacteria. This method is completely sufficient and safe. For the best results, please follow all instructions carefully and use only as directed.
  • Always thoroughly clean individual bottle parts before beginning this process!
  • After cleaning, assemble bottle parts as follows: base with with silicone valve, teat with screw ring, bottle body and protective cap.

Step 1: Measure 20 ml of cool water using the bottle cap. Fill the base with silicone valve with 20 ml of cool water.

Step 2: Place the screw ring with teat in the bottle base. Place the bottle body on it. Screw in JUST SLIGHTLY to avoid pouring out hot water when removing the bottle from microwave. DO NOT SCREW DOWN FULLY.

Step 3: Place the protective cap on top. Set the microwave timer according to the number of bottles being simultaneously cleaned. Set microwave from 500 to 1000 Watts.

  • After self-sterilising allow bottle to cool down before removing from microwave.
  • Recommended cooling time at least 10 minutes with opened microwave door. Be careful to hold the base and keep the bottle straight when removing from the microwave to avoid spilling any left over hot water.
  • After the process is complete, the Easy Start bottle remains disinfected for up to 48 hours after self-sterilising in the microwave, provided that it remains assembled as shown in Step 3.
  • For immediate usage: Pour away the leftover water from the base. Allow bottle parts to dry.
  • Always store bottle assembled.

IMPORTANT FACTS - For correct microwave sterilisation
  • Follow the instructions in the user manual of your microwave or multifunctional device.
  • Ensure that all parts of the self-sterilising bottle and microwave (including waveguide cover and turntable) are COMPLETELY clean and free from dirt, food residue, fat or oil splashes. If not this could lead to the product melting, the microwave sparking or the waveguide-cover burning!
  • The Easy Start Anti-Colic bottle should only be placed on solid and flat surfaces.
  • Do not put the Easy Start Anti-Colic bottle in the center of the turntable as this could result in an uneven heat distribution.
  • Do not leave your microwave unattended during the sterilising process.
  • Never place the device in the microwave without water.
  • Stop the microwaving process immediately if all the water has been vaporised!
  • Filling the base with too much or not enough water can damage the bottle.
  • Always set the microwave to the correct power and time.
  • If using a combination microwave oven, ensure that the Easy Start Anti-Colic bottle is not exposed to the heat of the grill because this will damage it.
  • TAKE CARE when handling recently disinfected items: they may still be hot.
  • Wash hands before touching disinfected items.
  • Be careful to hold the base and keep holding the bottle up straight when removing from the microwave to avoid spilling any leftover hot water.
  • Do not wash the Easy Start Anti-Colic bottle after disinfection.
  • Do not touch the teat after disinfection. Handle teat by using the screw ring.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an important component for the manufacturing of polycarbonate (PC), whereas Bisphenol S (BPS) is an organic chemical used to make polysulfone. Among other items, food packaging, plastic utensils and baby bottles are just a few examples of products made with PC, whereas the main usage of BPS is in thermal papers and inks.  The problem: Trace amounts of chemical substances  gradually leach out of the plastic into the food and might eventually get into the body. This can affect small children and infants in particular.
As a result of exposure to BPA, experts and studies have seen disruptions to the hormone system and brain, diabetes and heart damage as well as an increased risk of cancer. Although scientific evidence is not yet conclusive, the European Commission  - based on the precautionary principle -  has banned  the usage of BPA in baby bottles in order to protect the health and safety of babies and small children.

Before the bottle is placed in the water bath or the bottle warmer, the sealing cap is always removed. The contents of the bottle must not boil – so do not pour any boiling liquids into it!

Before feeding begins, the bottle should be dried using a clean cloth.

The MAM bottle is unscrewed and taken apart to make it easier to clean. This makes it easy to rinse the individual parts with water and a mild cleaning agent. All individual parts become hygienically clean in any steriliser. Sterilisation before each use of the bottle is particularly important for newborns.
